The University of Ottawa is a public research University first established in 1848, with over 40,000 enrolled students by 2012. In 2013, it ranked 2nd most sustainable university in Canada, and among the top 15 in the world. The D’Iorio Hall is a building which consists of four floors and a basement, for an approximate total area of 10,000 m2. The building was built in 1993 and is mainly composed of research laboratories and classrooms.

Project Benefits

The new arrangement of the components at D’Iorio has made it possible to recover most of the energy required for heating.
The project has saved a large amount of thermal and electrical energy, adding up $359,000 to per year.
